The Waterlily Balinese Bistro, Mutiara Tropicana

This is a new restaurant that I saw when I sent Sarah to my mum's place. It a Balinese bistro. I've been to Bali and I don't recall Bali having a specific dishes. All rice and lauks as usual. The ambience was spa-like. Sarah kept playing with the Gong. The deco was awesome.

This is the menu. Many sections- appetizers, pastas, burgers/sandwiches, grilled stuff and Balinese specialties. Plus dessert and  tropical beverages.

I ordered the Beef Steak Ciabatta, (top food picture). The grilled steak was overall good. It was a black pepper kind of grill. Lots of salsa-like toppings and buttered ciabatta. This comes with fries which was chilli or cajun powdered and watermelon. It was OK and I'll give it a 6.5/10.

Mum and brother kudin ordered the Balinese specialties, of Siap Memanggang and Ayam betuwi (I think). It is a set of half chicken with yellow rice, salads, sambals, keropok and kangkong goreng. The portions were huge with so little rice. Siap memanggang tastes like ayam percik. This will be 6.8/10.

The drinks that we ordered were barley lime and Pulut Inti. Pulut Inti was interesting as it was a ice-blended bubur pulut hitam! Yummmy! 8/10 it is.

Overall, it is a great place to sit, relax, and have first dates or anniversaries. The only downside is the PRICE! However the restaurant is almost full everytime we pass through. The average dish ranges from  RM 25 to 40, although one might defend that the portions are rather large.
As for me, unless someone else belanja me, I'll go to Kanna Curry banana leaf house for my Nasi fix!
